How these numbers are worked out, and what they leave out
Cathay Pacific figures are transcribed from Cathay's published notice “Changes to Status Points and Asia Miles earnings on flights” and its Status Points page, covering departures on or after 20 August 2025; partner figures were derived from Cathay's own earning service and reproduce all 4,217 sampled partner fares exactly on Status Points. Flying Blue XP rates and every tier threshold shown were verified against programme sources in September 2026. Airport coordinates come from the OpenFlights database.
Distances are great-circle between airports and may differ slightly from ticketed mileage, so routes sitting within a few miles of a band boundary can land in the neighbouring one. Each row is priced as one non-stop sector. Because earning is derived from distance and booking class, the page will price a route even if that airline does not fly it — it does not check schedules. Currency conversion uses the editable rates above, not live rates, so spend-based figures in a foreign currency are indicative. Bonus earning from elite status, co-branded cards and fare-brand bonuses is not modelled, nor are redemption or upgraded fares. Check the programme's own calculator before making a booking decision.
